Eye Irritation – Tears Production May Be Lacking

Through the course of aging, we may develop certain eye irritation such as dry eye or red eye. The eye irritations of dry eyes occur in millions of people. The cause is currently unknown. There appears to be an imbalance of tear production and draining. There are three layers to producing quality tears, and if any of them are out of balance, the dry eyes may occur.

Dry Eyes – Can Be From Sun or Air Conditioning

People with the eye condition of dry eyes usually have symptoms of scratching, itchy, red, and swollen and yes, tearing eyes. The tearing seems strange, but when the eye is irritated, it seems to produce the reaction of trying to “flush out the eye problem. If you are outdoors in the sun, or around too much smoke, dry eye can also be a temporary problem. When I come in from being on a boat or spending a lot of time in the sun, my eyes are always dry. If people are taking antihistamines, it can produce a drying of the eyes. Also, people that stare at computer screens all day can have dryer eyes because they are blinking less. Over the counter eye drops may help, but if you really have a problem, consult your eye doctor and they will be able to tell you exactly how to combat this eye condition.
