inserting contact lenses
If you need help with inserting contact lenses for the first time, your eye doctor will assist you in the beginning. Some doctors even have videos for you to watch and they will give you some time to practice in the office. Correct insertion into the eyes is important especially if you are using rigid lenses.
Wash your hands thoroughly and then dry them with a lint free towel
Insert the lens over a flat surface, or make sure the plug is in the sink
Place the index finger of your dominant hand over the middle of the bottom lid
With the first two fingers of the remaining hand, take a firm hold on the lashes and eyelid
While looking at the lens, bring it slowly towards the eye and gently insert it over the center of the eye
Look down, and gently release both lids. Keep looking down for 2-3 seconds to allow the lens to settle in.
